Description
- IDLab focuses its research on internet technologies and data science. We develop beyond state-of-the-art technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence for robotics and IoT (Internet of Things), machine learning and data mining, semantic intelligence, cloud and big data infrastructures, fixed and wireless networking, electromagnetics, RF and high-speed circuits and systems. - IDLab is active in multiple application areas: manufacturing, smart buildings and cities, health and wellbeing, media, mobility and logistics, energy, 5G communications, bioinformatics and datacenter technologies. - IDLab collaborates with many universities and research centres worldwide and jointly develops advanced technologies with industry (R&D centers from international companies, Flanders’ top innovating large companies and SMEs, as well as numerous ambitious startups). - IDLab is a research group in the Department of Information Technology (INTEC) and the Department Electronics and Information Systems (ELIS) of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (FEA). IDLab is a department in imec. - IDLab counts about 300 members with 45 professors and over 50 post docs. 10 spin-off companies were established. - There is also part of IDLab active in the University of Antwerp (not included in this SVO).
