Description
Since the seventies, the Laboratory of Wood Technology (UGent-Woodlab) has acquired experience in scientific and technological research on wood and maintains close contacts with all segments of the wood-processing industry and research groups involvedin the forestry-wood chain. UGent-Woodlab performs research on various aspects of the forestry-wood chain. This includes wood structure (wood formation, wood anatomy, tree-ring analysis) and properties (for example related to wood quality), durability of wood and derived materials (natural durability, wood treatment, wood modification, coatings) and end products (sawnwood, wood based panels, pulp and paper, wood as a source of energy).
