"ORBit represents an enthusiastic team (see Staff) responsible for teaching, conducting research and providing scientific services on the spatial inventory of soil characteristics to support a wide range of applications. Since 2014, ORBit is an associate partner of the Austrian Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Archaeological Prospection and Virtual Archaeology and a partner of the European Enhance Landfill Mining Consortium (EURELCO).Our research group is member of the research platform 'Natural Capital' of the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering at Ghent University. Our expertise includes (see Services) -Mobile proximal soil sensor configurations for the non-destructive examinations of soil characteristics. -Geophysical prospecting techniques forgeoarcheological and environmental applications.- Geostatistical interpolation and simulation techniques. -Sampling strategy for pedological purposes. -GIS techniques for signal processing of sensor measurements."
