Description
The Center for Carcass Classification (CBKc) was established in 1999 to provide scientific support and training to the external parties involved in the classification of bovine and pig carcases in Flemish slaughterhouses. The CBKc belongs to the Department of Animal Sciences and Aquatic Ecology, Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, Ghent University. The activities to be carried out by CBKc are laid down by the Flemish Government and included in the legislation in force concerning carcass classification.
