Description
At the Centre of Macromolecular Chemistry (CMaC), we focus on the synthesis, characterization and application of functional polymer structures and polymer-derived materials. We are able to control nanostructure, morphology and self-assembly in solution, solid state and thin films. In addition, our researchers have a strong expertise in a diverse set of application domains. With our highly interdisciplinary approach, we develop novel and more efficient synthetic strategies for the preparation of polymer materials by a combination of fine control over the polymer chemistry and an in-depth characterization of the materials generated. CMaC was jointly founded by the Polymer Chemistry Research Group (Prof. Filip Du Prez), the Supramolecular Chemistry Group (Prof. Richard Hoogenboom) and the Polymer Chemistry & Biomaterials Group (Prof. Peter Dubruel and Prof. Sandra Van Vlierberghe).
