Core ARTH Infinity, an approved core facility of UGent, provides advanced preclinical medical imaging devices, services and expertise for non-invasive in vivo medical imaging of laboratory animals.

An initiative of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, it is organised by a core team led by Prof Christian Vanhove.

Terms of use

  1. Visit us first for an intake interview.
    • Register on the Core Facility Managment Software (CFMS) platform. You will then be invited for an intake interview.
  1. Take a (basic) training course.
    • Basic training 'Core Infinity: How to set up a small animal imaging experiment' to demonstrate the importance of preclinical imaging and set up an animal experiment.
    • All courses are part of the Faculty Research Training Programme, module: Core Facilities.
  1. Reserve your use at least 7 working days in advance via the Core Facility Management Software platform (CFMS platform).
    • Make your reservation for a tool, service or product via the CFMS platform.
  1. Pay a usage fee.
    • Use of the Core Facility is possible for a fee. Provide a cost centre for the user fee within your project application.
  1. Follow the agreement framework of the Core Facilities.
    • Specific agreements apply to the use of the Core Facilities.
  1. Mention the Core Facility in your scientific output.
    • To ensure the funding and continuation of the Core Facility, it is essential to mention it as a source. View the guidelines for mentioning Core Facilities in scientific output here.
