Description
The MAID database includes individual data on maidservants who migrated from rural areas to the city of Ghent during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It offers life course data of women born in the East Flanders polder and sandy regions between 1830 and 1900. The base population consists of four generations of women (11,500 individuals, 48 variables).
