The CytoFLEX flow cytometer from Beckman Coulter is a high-performance, compact instrument designed for advanced multiparametric cell analysis. It allows the simultaneous measurement of up to 9 different parameters, enabling researchers to gain deep insights into complex cell populations.
Among these 10 parameters, the CytoFLEX captures two key morphological characteristics:
Forward Scatter (FSC), which provides information about cell size.
Side Scatter (SSC), which reflects the internal complexity or granularity of the cell.
In addition to these scatter properties, the instrument supports the detection of 8 different fluorochromes across three laser lines:
Blue laser (488 nm): FITC, PE, PerCP-Cy5.5, and PE-Cy7
Red laser (633 nm): Alexa Fluor 647 and APC-Cy7
Violet laser (405 nm): Sytox Blue and Brilliant Violet 510
This broad range of fluorescence detection makes the CytoFLEX particularly suited for applications such as immunophenotyping, apoptosis assays, cell cycle analysis, and viability studies. Its flexible configuration, intuitive software, and high sensitivity make it an essential tool for both clinical research and core facilities.
