Description

The POPPKAD database was developed for research into real estate and ownership relations in the past. It is largely based on cadastral data and consolidates essential information on real estate at various levels:

Micro level Data per plot in the province of West Flanders and the cities of Bruges, Brussels, and Ostend (700,000 plots) 1830-1864
Meso level Names of land owners in the provinces of Antwerp, Brabant, Hainaut, and East and West Flanders (560,000 owners) 1843-1873
Macro level General cadastral statistics on land ownership, housing, and land development in Belgium 1834-1961

Additionally, plot plans were converted into geographic information systems and linked to cadastral registry data and other sources in the cities/towns of Bruges, Brussels, and Ostend.
