Description
The Centre for Developmental and Motivational Psychology at Ghent University conducts scientific research into the factors that support or hinder people's psychological needs and growth, both on a personal and contextual level.
Our goal is to optimally support the motivation, engagement, resilience and psychological well-being of children, young people and young adults in various areas of life (home, school, leisure). To this end, we invest in the psychological needs for growth, namely autonomy, connectedness and competence. We strive for structural changes with a sustainable, growth-promoting impact that benefits both the basic psychological needs of children and their socialisation figures.
