Bio
Qamer Mahmood is a veterinarian from Pakistan and is currently pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University. He graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2018, followed by a Master's degree in Epidemiology and Public Health in 2020 from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences, Pakistan. He started his PhD in 2022 and joined the Veterinary Epidemiology team at Ghent University under the supervision of Professor Jeroen Dewulf and Ilias Chantziaras. His doctoral research focuses on biosecurity assessment and quantification of antimicrobial use in poultry. Currently, he is contributing to the European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (EUPAHW) and the BETTER COST Action (CA20103).
