ENFORCE is the Belgian center of expertise for forensic wood research, part of the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Tervuren. Its main objective is to help combat illegal timber trade through wood identifications of a wide array of timber products and through related research. ENFORCE uses macroscopic and microscopic analysis of wood anatomy and chemical fingerprinting via mass spectrometry (DART-TOFMS) for wood identification.
