Bio
Dr. Alexis Daveloose successfully defended his PhD on the funerary representation of the Etruscan family in September 2022, with particular attention to the relation between ritualistic discourse and social organisation. His research focuses on the late Etruscan period, in particular on social and cultural themes within the context of the Roman conquest. He is currently a postdoctoral assistant at Ghent University (Belgium), where he is working on a project investigating forms of social organisation and associated networks in Hellenistic Etruria. He is preparing a book on the demographic structures of Etruria, delving into related aspects of mortality, nuptiality, and fertility. Other work comprised onomastic customs and family dynamics, for both late Etruria and Republican Rome.
